The makers of Super Power Beat Down are working on a new feature-length film taking place in the world of the Power Rangers. Titled Legend of the White Dragon, the new project includes former Power Rangers actors Jason David Frank, Jason Faunt, Ciara Hanna,  Yoshi Sudarso, Johnny Yong Bosch, and Chrysti Ane.

While the Bat in the Sun team and Aaron and Sean Schoenke have been teasing the project, it officially launched on Kickstarter with a trailer for the film. You can check out more by going to the Kickstarter page.

While the trailer or project doesn’t even mention the Power Rangers, it does show off a new suit for the white dragon ranger and takes place in the former city of Angel Grove, now known as Angel Graves.

The crew says they will do everything in their power to make this a film dedicated to passionate fans.

The goal of the Legend of the White Dragon Kickstarter is to raise $500,000 by August 11th. If more cash is raised the team says they will be able to expand the story, build more impressive sets, and improve the action sequences with bigger and better effects.

It seems this take on the Power Rangers universe may be darker and grittier than the original TV series. It’s exciting to know we may be getting another ranger movie next year, seeing as the sequel to the 2017 movie is no longer happening.

If successful, Legend of the White Dragon will be available August of 2020.
