With the departure of a few key stars, it was clear that Legends of Tomorrow would be looking for new Waverider members heading into its sixth season. Thanks to DC FanDome part 2, we now know that Lisseth Chavez (Chicago P.D.) is set to join the show as a series regular.
Chavez will play alien expert Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz. Here’s the official character description:
Well, that certainly sounds like a character who would eventually fit right in with the Legends of Tomorrow.
Where Did Legends of Tomorrow Leave Off After Season 5?
Legends of Tomorrow season 5 ended with the Waverider crew enjoying their victory against the Fates (despite not actually fixing anything). As the Legends walk on, still on the high of saving the world, Sara Lance is stopped in her tracks by a beam of light. The season ends on a huge cliffhanger as Sara is abducted by aliens with the Legends continuing on and completely oblivious to what happened to their co-captain.
With Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ Charlie, Courtney Ford’s Nora Darhk, and Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer gone, there are a few spots open on the Waverider for Legends of Tomorrow season 6. We know that Matt Ryan’s Constantine, Olivia Swann’s Astra, and Shayan Sobhian’s Behrad are coming back as main characters. But, they were all pretty much mainstays last season too. There is still room for more faces on the team and it’ll be interesting to see what Chavez brings to the table as this unique character.
