Lego video games have been very popular since the first Lego Star Wars game released back in 2005. Various franchises have received the Lego treatment, from DC and Marvel Comics to Lord of the Rings and even Jurassic Park. Now, Traveller’s Tales is returning to the series that started it all. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, announced back at E3 2019, now has a trailer!

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out now in theaters, ending the current trilogy of films. With that release, Traveller’s Tales dropped a new trailer for their next project. The short preview shows a mix of new and old footage from the previous games in the series. The final scene shows Lando Calrissian speaking to Chewbacca. Therefore, the game contains at least some voice work.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga: The Game That Fans Have Been Waiting For

Traveller’s Tales released the first Lego Star Wars game back in 2005. Focused on Episodes I-III, the title featured no voicework and was very family-friendly. The developer quickly followed up the critically acclaimed game with Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy which focuses on Episodes IV-VI. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga compiled both games and fit them all into one title. In addition, a title depicting events of the Clone Wars TV show released in 2011 called Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

The last Lego Star Wars game was based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Based on the first movie of the sequel trilogy, it was also the first to feature voiceovers. Traveller’s Tales never released a game for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The reasons for not doing so are unknown, though it was likely because they hoped to bundle the entire Skywalker Saga into one title.

I spent a lot of time playing the previous entries and am very excited for the upcoming game! Personally, I love how the old games didn’t have any voiceover work. It made the entire experience much more enjoyable for me. However, having the whole saga in one game will be great and I look forward to what new features Traveller’s Tales will introduce to the series!
