Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones, recently teased about the ending of the series. On an interview with Jimmy Fallen, Headey said:
When asked about reading the scripts before the ending, Headey stated:
Lena Headey’s statement comes after Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, also talked about the ending of the show. She said:
Cersei Lannister has played the role of a complicated villain throughout Game of Thrones. She has recently lost all three of her children and had to confess to adultery before the public. But now the Iron Throne is hers. Perhaps, though, she will lose her brother as well. The character of Jaime Lannister has progressed very differently in the books by author George R.R. Martin, where he redeemed himself through his relationship with Brienne of Tarth and saw the true nature of his sister. In HBO’s version, Jaime has stuck by Cersei’s side until the season seven finale. While Jaime wanted to team up with Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen to defeat the White Walkers, Cersei had other plans. Fans worry this could mean Cersei’s wrath will turn to her brother.
The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will return to HBO on April 14th.
