Lenovo doesn’t have any handheld gaming consoles yet, but they manufactured many gaming phones and even got the leadership on the market. The leaked prototypes clearly show that the company is making a handheld gaming console. While the count of the rivals is increasing, with the entry of Steam Deck, it’s unknown how they are planning to make success. However, the console prototypes are now illegally on sale, and the console’s features are mostly viewed now. Here are all the details we learned from the leakage.

Lenovo Handheld Gaming Console Prototypes Now on Sale

YouTuber Taki Udon bought one of those Lenovo handheld gaming console prototypes from China. As he claims, the prototype he bought was priced at 160 dollars. That changes because all the prototypes are of a different level of quality. And 100 of the prototypes were in the condition Taki showed in the video. It will probably get removed, but here’s a close look at the console:

The console has a 1080p screen with HDR support, a 7.000 mAh battery, and 64GB of storage. The prototype storage is pretty narrow, but surely it will be released with at least a 512GB maximum capacity option. Just like Logitech G Cloud, the Legion Play prototype comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chip. This makes their performance very similar, putting them in the same class.

Actually, these consoles aren’t rivals for Steam Deck. They’re mostly optimized for cloud gaming, so people will want to buy these handheld consoles instead of smartphones. Cloud gaming isn’t the only option, but the best option for mobile gaming. Snapdragon 720G isn’t a processor that could run all the mobile games with high quality for years. As the mobile devices’ aim suggests, more performance makes it harder to design a portable handheld console. With the entry of the 5G network, Lenovo’s move will make more sense with time.
