Liam Neeson has recently broken his silence concerning his cameo as Qui-Gon Jinn in the final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The recent cameo marks Neeson’s first live-action return to the Star Wars franchise since Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Still, some Star Wars fans are upset because when previously questioned, Neeson reportedly denied or even lied about his involvement in the Disney+ series.

Ever since Obi-Wan Kenobi was first released on May 27, rumors that Obi-Wan’s Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn would return as a Force ghost have run rampant through the Star Wars fandom, especially since it was confirmed that Qui-Gon had achieved Force ghost status in Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. His appearance would also call back to Obi-Wan’s own appearance as a Force ghost to encourage Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, but prior to his cameo, Liam Neeson was insistent on not revealing his involvement in the latest piece of Star Wars media.
