The episodic adventure game returns to an older release model.

The team behind Life is Strange 2 is starting to get ready to release the season’s third episode, which is set to premiere early next month. In preparation for the release, the team has decided on a new release policy, one which resembles the way they released episodes for the first Life is Strange.

The episodic narrative adventure formula that Telltale Games invented is still relatively new in the video game space and has already done through some changes. Over the past few years, fans of the genre had grown accustomed to being able to either buy a full season all at once via Season Pass, or buy each episode individually as they are released. Up until now, Life is Strange 2 has pretty much only been available to purchase via Season Pass, with players’ only options being to either buy the first episode and then the full season, or buy the full season all at once.

However, this is now set to change, as DONTNOD has announced that, starting today (April 4), Episode 2 is now available to purchase individually and that every new episode going forward will also be purchasable individually.

A new teaser has also been released for the game, teasing the return of the character Cassidy. You can watch it below. The third episode of Life is Strange 2 will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 9.
