We already know a third game in the Life Is Strange series is in the making at Dontnod Entertainment, the developer behind the IP and the first title in the franchise (the second, the prequel Before the Storm, is Deck Nine Games’).
In a recent press release informing about the release of Farewell, Before the Storm’s bonus episode with Max and Chloe, Square Enix added some official details about what we were already been told by the makers of the first title.
Specifically, we now know that Life Is Strange 2, or whatever it’ll be called like, has been in development for around two years and that an official announcement will be coming “in the coming months.”
It was already said last year that new characters and stories would be coming as Max and Chloe’s journey is considered over now that we’ve explored the beginning after the end.
“But when a door closes, a window opens… or, something like that,” the press release reads. “We now look forward to the coming months, when Michel Koch and Raoul Barbet’s team at Dontnod returns to present the new story and characters of the next Life is Strange.”
That seems a hint at an E3 2018 reveal in June, although it could be a bit too early considering Before the Storm wrapped up just today. In case, we really look forward to what’s next for this beloved franchise.
