We all used to fear the lights were off when we were kids, right? It seems that some developers still have not overcome this fear, so they made a horror game that simulates climbing stairs in the dark. Lights Off! addresses the fear of turning off the lights before you go to bed.

Lights Off! is a free-to-play first-person horror game that recently hit Steam. The game was originally presented on Itch.io and aroused curiosity among horror game fans. In fact, as the title suggests, it’s about the fear of turning off the lights and climbing the stairs to go to bed in the dark.

How 64-bit Horror Game Scares?

Although it is an indie game with low graphics and a low budget, it is extremely effective in giving the feeling of darkness. In addition, the gameplay of the horror game is quite simple: You start on the ground floor of a house that is illuminated at midnight, and you have to go through the rooms and turn off each light one by one.

In the house with almost no sound source, you can only hear footsteps, which come out quite loud. Turning off every light switch makes rooms darker, which quickly builds tension. While playing the game, It’s impossible to get rid of the “oh God. Something is going to catch me” thought.

You can finish this indie game, which was introduced on Itch.io and now available on Steam, in about 10 minutes. The Steam description of the game is as follows: “Lights off is a short and experimental horror game. Play through a fear most of us have experienced as you turn off the lights alone at home.”
