Lionsgate has dropped the official trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4. This is the first look we’ve had at the upcoming film since the teaser trailer in July. Set to the tune of a slowed-down version of “Seasons in the Sun,” this trailer sees John Wick (Keanu Reeves) still grieving over the loss of his wife and having to face a new villain, the Marquis de Gramont (Bill Skarsgård). John Wick: Chapter 4 looks to be quite an adventurous film, as we see the titular assassin riding a horse through the desert, attacking a man with nunchucks, getting violent in a nightclub, and engaging in a gun and sword fight. This trailer makes it clear that John Wick: Chapter 4 will be a wild ride.

Lionsgate Teases Tense Battle With ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ Trailer

While not much is known about the plot for the movie, Collider has the official plot, which reads, “John Wick uncovers a path to defeating the High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.” Vulture gives more details in the plot, explaining that the Marquis de Gramont is the new head of the network of assassins John Wick shook up in the first film and that he is challenging John Wick to win-or-die single combat. The Marquis de Gramont does come off as quite menacing, which is no surprise after seeing Skarsgård show his villainous chops as Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

We also see familiar characters such as The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) and Winston (Ian McShane). The latter will be the subject of a prequel series entitled The Continental, which will release sometime in 2023 on Peacock. John Wick: Chapter 4 will release in theaters on March 24, 2023.
