The Marvel Cinematic Universe just keeps pleasing its fans! Disney and Marvel have just confirmed a Loki TV series starring none other than Tom Hiddleston himself.

According to Gamespot, Disney’s Bob Iger shared the news along with the latest earnings report. This will be a Disney+ show which is officially the name of Disney’s upcoming streaming service. So, now fans of Loki wishing the character had more depth, will now get to experience a TV show based around the character.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t more information about the show other than the basics. Disney+ is set to debut the show sometime in the year 2019. My guess is that the show will most likely start before the next Avengers movie. There’s no word of how many episodes there will be or even the general plot. However, we can speculate that there will be some mischief. Also, it’s a Loki show with Tom Hiddleston so we can be thankful for that.

Disney has also confirmed a new Star Wars show as well. I doubt fans are as excited for that as they are for the Loki show though. The first word of a Loki show came from Variety back in September. This is when they revealed that there were plans for MCU characters who did not get their movie spotlight. We’re starting to see these changes now though. Black Widow will be getting her own film soon.

During this report, Scarlett Witch’s name was also brought up. Each show will reportedly have 6 to 8 episodes give or take. There’s also another show on the way that will feature Winter Solider and Falcon.

Disney+ will be a tough competitor against Netflix. The Marvel Cinematic Universe still continues to live on Netflix, but for how long?
