A filing on the Korean Ratings Board gives credence to the rumors.
Thanks to a recent filing on the Korean Ratings Board, it seems pretty clear that Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to get in on Fortnite Battle Royale.
As you might recall, a list of Switch games that were set to be unveiled at E3 later this month were leaked on 4chan yesterday. Of course, several outlets quickly claimed the list was real to some extent, with Destructoid outright stating it is “confident this rumor is accurate” due to it allegedly receiving embargoed confirmations of E3 2018 appointments for some of the titles on the list.
Here is the list in question:
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Fortnite
- Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
- FIFA 19
- Killer Queen Black
- Starlink: Battle for Atlas
- Paladins
- Overcooked! 2
- Mario Tennis Aces
At the time, there was no way to tell if this was really the case (they’re not going to show the press materials, obviously), but this turn of events pretty much confirms that Fortnite will be coming to the Switch. At this point, all we really need is for Nintendo to come out and say it.
Of course, this begs the question of how well Fortnite would actually run on the Switch. As prior evidence shows, the Switch’s utility comes at a cost: power. A version akin to that on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC would probably be a disaster, but a downscaled one like the mobile version (or at least running on lower to middle settings) would probably turn out okay. We’ll just have to wait until E3 and see.
