The country music legend Loretta Lynn is dead at 90 years old. She passed away at her Tennessee ranch from natural causes, according to a rep of her family. The singer was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Prior to Loretta Lynn’s passing, she suffered a stroke back in 2017. She then had to stop touring after 57 years. Her hit song “Coal Miner’s Daughter” was later made into a film. “Coal Miner’s Daughter” turned her into a country music star. Lynn earned 18 Grammy nominations and won 3 of them. The country music legend had 21 chart-topping hits, and 11 hit albums long before she passed. She won the Country Music Artist’s Female Vocalist of the Year in 1967, 1972, and 1973. The “Coal Miner’s Daughter” Singer Sang Her Way into Stardom

Loretta Lynn was born Loretta Webb in 1932 in Van Lear, Kentucky. Lynn was one of eight children from a very poor family. The singer loved to belt her voice from an early age, which annoyed her father from time to time. She married her husband Oliver “Doolittle” Lynn when she was only 15 years old, she gave him the nickname “Doo.” Her career started after her husband bought her a $17 Harmony guitar and got her a singing gig. In 1960, the country music legend recorded her first single, “Honky Tonk Girl.” A stint at the Grand Ole Opry and a record deal followed. Loretta Lynn passed at 90 but has numerous hits her fans will forever hold onto. The country music legend passed on her ambition and love of music long before her last days at 90.

Loretta Lynn sang the music hits “Don’t Come Home A’ Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind)” and “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man).” This made the “Coal Miner’s Daughter” the first female country singer to write a No. 1 hit. Lynn wrote the memoir Coal Miner’s Daughter in 1976 with the help of George Vecsey. Sissy Spacek played in the 1980 biographical film and won an Academy Award for the role. The Lifetime film Patsy & Loretta also touched on Lynn’s friendship with the late Patsy Cline. Before Loretta Lynn passed at 90, she had six children with her late husband, Oliver Lynn. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama in 2013. The country music legend Loretta Lynna passed one heck of a legacy.

She’s survived by four of her children.
