In Lost Ark, Ability Stones are essential gear that you’ll need to facet to help improve your character. We’ll help you learn everything you need to know about Ability Stones so that you can use them to your advantage.

Explaining Ability Stones in Lost Ark

Ability Stones provide you with Vitality and Engraving Points. You’ll have 1 Malus Slot and 2 Combat Engravings once you start getting these Ability Stone gear to facet in Lost Ark.

Ability Stones come in Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Relic. The type of stone you get will determine the number of Engraving Points you get. They’re listed as followed:

  • Rare = 6 Points
  • Epic = 8 Points
  • Legendary = 9 Points
  • Relic = 10 Points

You can’t just equip them, though. First, you’ll have to reforge, AKA “facet,” the Ability Stones. You can do this at any Stonecutter NPC you find in major cities. They’re easy to find, too thanks to the blue diamond icon that’ll show on your map.

But before all this can happen, you’ll have to unlock the questline for it. There’s a mission called “Facet Ability Stones,” and you’ll find this quest, Luterra Castle. The Stonecutter NPC there will give it to you.

How to Obtain Ability Stones in Lost Ark

There are multiple ways to go about this as the Stones come to you as rewards or drops.

A great way to get more of them after the endgame is by going through Chaos Dungeons by yourself or in a group of 4 players if you need the help. You can do these twice a day too, so it shouldn’t take you long to get enough Ability Stones to facet.

Additionally, you can tackle the following methods to rack up on Ability Stones before the endgame:

  • Abyssal Dungeons
  • Auction House
  • Field Bosses
  • Guardian Raids
  • Una’s Daily/Weekly Tasks

Also, you can participate in the Pirate Coin Exchange with Peyto and Fermata to get Ability Stones. However, you’re limited in this case to 3 stones per character every week.

Another thing you can do is head to a Stonecutter NPC to exchange Powders of Mystery to get the Stones as well.

Once you have what you need, you’ll be ready to facet the Ability Stones to improve your character even more. Just remember: once you start forging, you’re stuck with that stone, so be sure you have what you want when the time comes.
