The first iPhones with an IP rating were the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus that came with an IP67 rating. With their latest models, the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro series, Apple updated that rating to IP68. This means that the iPhone 11 is capable of remaining under 2 metres of water for 30 minutes. The iPhone 11 Pro models, however, can endure under 4 metres for 30 minutes. However, for a couple who lost their iPhone 11 in Disney World Resort, the IP rating was just a mere number.
“I was able to retrieve all of the pictures from our Disney Halloween night, and besides some sand in my case and a little algae on the cover, the phone seems no worse for the wear,”, said the surprised mother.
