Viewers watched the love between Bartise Bowden and Nancy Rodriguez blossom on the third season of the Netflix reality show, Love Is Blind. However, after rooting for them for weeks, they gave fans a shocker by ending their relationship right on the altar. While Bartise undoubtedly takes the fall for declining to say “I do” during their vow exchange, the accountant hasn’t exactly ruled out a future with his onscreen flame.

Bartise And Nancy Felt Uncertain About Their Relationship

During an interview with E! News, the TV personality addressed everything that may have gone wrong during their brief dating stint and engagement. According to him, he never made up his mind about his final answer until he found himself standing at the altar. The 27-year-old attributed his indecisiveness to Nancy’s efforts to frustrate their relationship, ultimately making it difficult for him to feel confident in their love. He divulged,

On her part, Nancy argued that her relationship with Bartise completely changed half way through the Love is Blind show, prompting her to decide to say no. After informing him of her decision weeks before the wedding, Bartise pleaded for another chance to turn things around. She obliged, but never expected him to turn her down instead on their wedding day.

Another Chance With Nancy May Not Sound So Bad

Notably, Bartise took several wrong turns during his onscreen relationship with Nancy. One of his most controversial moments saw him admit he was still thinking about Raven Ross, whom he cut ties with after choosing Nancy over her. He appeared to re-think his decision after meeting Raven in person, and made no secret of it.

The star now admits his remarks about Raven being “a smoke show” and “gorgeous” were brutal and insensitive, given he was engaged to Bartise at the time. He admittedly felt embarrassed and ashamed looking back at those moments. Asked if he foresaw a future friendship with Nancy, Bartise revealed he remained hopeful, given their history together. He explained,

Interestingly, Nancy does not share his optimism, and has solid reasons to back her decision. The 32-year-old admitted she was glad Bartise turned her down, as she never would have wanted a “half-ass” husband. Her words may seem intense especially as the accountant already put forward his peace offering. But who could blame Mexican real estate investor? Perhaps, getting dumped on the altar once was enough turn off for one lifetime.
