Zanab Jaffrey and Cole Barnett were among five couples who came out of the pod engaged during season 3 of the Netflix reality show Love Is Blind. However, their relationship crashed and burned in the following weeks, eventually ending in Zanab’s explosive outburst on the altar on their would-have-been wedding day.
Facing her fiancé in front of an audience of friends, family, and the rest of the world, Zanab recounted Cole’s ill treatment of her since their engagement. Referencing his penchant for belittling her looks, questioning her sanity, and openly flirting with fellow cast member Colleen Reed, the 32-year-old confronted him on the altar, saying,
She finished her now-infamous lines by admitting despite loving him, she could not marry him because she knew love shouldn’t hurt. After dishing out her brutal “I don’t,” Cole was left stunned and in tears on the altar. During his confessional, the 27-year-old revealed he felt broken because Zanab never voiced her feelings to him prior to the wedding. However, the self-proclaimed globetrotter has revealed she indeed voiced her feelings beforehand, calling out Cole’s bluffs for good.
Zanab Jaffrey Counters Cole Barnett’s Claim
In a recent interview with USA Today ahead of the Love Is Blind season 3 finale, Zanab Jaffery revealed she attempted to have conversations with Cole Barnett numerous times during their relationship to address his insensitive behavior. However, he blew her off each time, even successfully turning the tables. She reflected:
The former flight attendant also addressed her decision to slam her fiancé on the altar. She admitted she never rehearsed those lines or planned to turn him down. However, after seeing him on the altar, she knew she needed to make him hear her out once and for all after many dismissals. As for the current state of their relationship, Zanab Jaffrey maintained they were not on speaking terms, while Cole Barnett disclosed in another interview that they still cared about each other. Who knows what more uncertainties the future would bring?
