Blumhouse Television is making a limited series out of Stephen King’s Book Later that will star Lucy Liu. Hard Case Crime published Stephen King’s book Later in March 2021. The story centers around literary agency owner Tia, a single mother to her son Jamie. Her life takes a nosedive when her author client dies before finishing the book that could save her failing agency. Luckily, her son can speak to the dead and get the book’s details from the late author to Tia, who finishes the book and publishes it in his name. Lucy Liu will play Tia. Raelle Tucker wrote the pilot script for the Blumhouse television limited series. Tucker was nominated for an Emmy for her contribution to the HBO series True Blood. She has previously worked with Blumhouse for the anthology series Sacred Lies and Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones.

Lucy Liu Is Trying Something Supernatural

The Charlie’s Angels and Kill Bill star has done vastly different projects from the beginning of her career. She played the upper-class Simone Grove in Why Women Kill and Dr. Watson in Elementary. Now things will get a little supernatural for her portrayal of Tia in the Blumhouse Television limited series. The adaptation of Stephen King’s book Later will be another genre for the actor and further show her range. She most recently starred in Netflix’s Death to 2021. She has a role in the upcoming Warner Bros superhero movie Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Critics will be eager to see how Blumhouse Television reimagines Stephen King’s book Later for the limited series. They will also want to know how Lucy Liu will take on the role of Tia. Stephen King has expressed his excitement for working with Blumhouse, so it’s hopeful that the production company will do his work justice.
