Have you ever been interested in attending a video game or sci-fi convention but were worried that you couldn’t afford it or that you couldn’t make it out to the venue?  Well, worry no more!  This year marks the return of LudoNarraCon, the all-digital video game convention celebrating narrative indie games.

LudoNarraCon is an experiment created by the indie label Fellow Travel.  With a focus on indie games that are all about their narrative experience, LudoNarraCon seeks to emulate the experience of attending a gaming convention only now you can do it from your couch.  As the Managing Director of Fellow Traveler, Chris Wright likes to put it: “It’s free to attend, free to exhibit, has a global reach, and no one has to put on pants.”

As per the press release:

“During the festival, 30 exhibitors from around the world will stream exclusively behind the scenes content and sneak peeks on their Steam store pages with more than 15 exhibitors providing downloadable demos, available only for the duration of the event. There will also be live panel discussions on the main theatre stream and a sale featuring more than 50 story-rich games.”

During their successful pilot in May of last year, they saw more than 850,000 people visit the central event page on Steam.  During this year’s event, they are shooting for a 25% increase in exhibitors, a 66% increase in demos, and a doubling of live panel content with an attendance goal of 1.5M visitors to the event page.  And why not?  It’s free, and you don’t have to put on pants, yet you can still get access to some of the most innovative upcoming titles in the indie space!

LudoNarraCon 2020 is scheduled to run from April 24 – 27th.  For more details, including the various exhibitors and panels head on over to their website.  And do check back as the dates draw closer.  More cool things will be announced between now and then, for sure.
