Lugia is set to return to Pokémon Go’s legendary raids on March 16, Niantic has announced.
This version of Lugia will come with the exclusive move Sky Attack, which is a Flying-type move that debuted in the third generation of Pokémon games. His inclusion will also raise the possibility of other Legendary Pokémon reappearing in the game for those who missed out on the chance to capture them previously.
Lugia is the first Johto legendary Pokémon to return to Pokémon Go and the third legendary Pokemon ever to have a second chance in Legendary Raids after Kyogre and Groudon’s re-inclusion last month.
Lugia was the first ever Legenday Pokémon to make an appearance in Pokémon Go in June 2017. The Pokémon was added during the raid update, which has been used to capture every other Legenday Pokémon since. This mode tasked players to team up and battle powerful Pokémon in an attempt to capture and unlock them in their Pokédex.
The only Legendary Pokémon yet to appear in a legendary raids at this time are Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, and Deoxys. Players who are looking to complete their generation three Pokédex are also awaiting the future inclusion of Smeargle into the game.
Be quick if you want to add Lugia to your Pokédex, however. He will only be around until April 2 and Niantic has given players no clear indication on when, or if, players will see him in a Legendary Raid anytime in the future.
