Luigi gets spooked this October.

After speculation on the release date, Nintendo has officially announced that Luigi’s Mansion 3 will launch on October 31, the perfect game to release on Halloween. The Switch exclusive will feature Luigi and company as they try and rescue their friends from a special place called the Last Resort Hotel.

The game has been in development for quite some time, as the first time we got a glimpse of it was back in September 2018 during a Nintendo Direct. We got another look at the game at Nintendo’s E3 2019 Direct, where Luigi showcased his new abilities with the Poltergust Vacuum, as well as brand new coop multiplayer mode.

While there were rumors going around that were speculating different dates for the arrival of Luigi’s Mansion 3, it’s still great to see that Nintendo is pushing forward with a 2019 release. Nintendo already has a fairly crowded release schedule for the upcoming holidays, including The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening, Daemon X Machina, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, and Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Luigi’s Mansion 3’s Halloween date puts it smack dab in the middle of this insanity, making Nintendo the dominant company with the most upcoming 1st party titles for the rest 2019. Fans have been itching to get their hands on this title since the last iteration in 2012, and it won’t be long till they, and Luigi, get to head back into the mansion to avoid the scares of the cute/frighting ghosts in the game.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 officially launches on October 31 for the Nintendo Switch.
