Lyney Lynette Could Be Genshin Impact S First Two In One Playable Character According To Leaks

Lyney and Lynette have been the center of attention among the Genshin Impact community after a leaker alleged that they would be released as a two-in-one playable character. The pair was first spotted in Fontaine’ segment of the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Prevail. Since then, players have been speculating how Genshin Impact will execute gameplay for the uncanny duo.

A leak shared by a leaker named Uncle J, which helpful community members translated, claims that Lyney and Lynette will be released as a single character. They also claim that Lyney will be a puppeteer who controls Lynette. It’s unclear whether they’re referring to Lyney being a puppeteer in a literal sense (Lynette being a puppet) or if they simply mean that Lynette will only appear when summoned in battle (Lynette still being a real human).

Genshin Impact is known to test out new gameplay mechanics ahead of time. For instance, the “camera lens” feature in Fayz Trials was evidently a test for Nahida’s Elemental Skill, which has similar “camera lens” mechanics. Likewise, the release of Eremites that summon creatures and the beast-taming Fabulous Fungus Frenzy event could be tests for upcoming summon-based characters. And Lyney and Lynette could be the first to bring this gameplay mechanic to life.

Apart from information on the character duo, leaker Uncle J also dropped other key information. They claim that Alhaitham’s kit will be based on triggering the Spread Reaction, while Dehya will focus on triggering Burning. They also claim that Genshin Impact may release a Hydro claymore character with a complex design, likely alluding to a Fontaine character.

While the leaker has a relatively decent track record for reliability (predicting half of the recent banner characters correctly), the information above remains unconfirmed. Take them with a grain of salt and know that any changes in the actual release are bound to occur.
