When Colson Baker, popularly known as rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), was nine years old, his mother abandoned him. Following MGK’s mom’s departure, he and his dad moved to Denver and lived with his aunt. It’s been over 20 years since the 32-year-old rapper’s mom abandoned him, but they reunited recently.

On Thursday, June 2nd, Machine Gun Kelly took to his Instagram page to post a picture of himself and his mom sitting cross-legged on the ground next to themselves and smiling as they posed for the camera. The “Forget Me Too” crooner wore a sky blue sweatshirt and print shorts, which he matched with pink sneakers and white socks. He accessorized his look with a pink face cap.

Machine Gun Kelly Rapped About His Mom

It is not easy for one to grow without their mom knowing she abandoned them, and MGK felt such pain for many years. Fans saw how much he felt about his mom’s absence when he rapped about her in his 2019 song, “Burning Memories.” MGK rapped,

In the song, the rapper, who is currently engaged to actress Megan Fox, further asked his mom why she left her only child at nine for another man. He continued,

Machine Gun Kelly’s Dad’s Death May Have Brought Him Closer To His Mom

Machine Gun Kelly’s dad died on July 5th, 2020, which coincided with the first anniversary of his fourth studio alum, Hotel Diablo. MGK said he never felt a pain that deep in his life in a tweet announcing his father’s death.

With the rapper now reuniting with his mom two years after his dad’s passing, the latter’s demise might have pushed him to reconcile with his long-lost mom.

What Role Can MGK’s Mom Still Play?

MGK’s mom has missed many aspects of her son’s life since her absence. However, now that they have reconciled, she could attend the rapper’s upcoming wedding to Megan. She could also meet MGK’s daughter, Casie, 12, who he shares with his ex Emma Cannon.

Megan may also warm up to her fiancé’s mom and introduce her to her three sons, Noah, 9, Bodie, 8, and Journey, 5, who she shares with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green.
