Mad Men, fans on Netflix are about to have their  hearts broken

AMC’s Mad Men has been a staple for Netflix users over the years, hitting the service even before the series was finished airing on TV. Though there haven’t been any announcements made about Mad Men‘s departure, the “details” section of the Mad Men page on Netflix indicates the series will be available until June 10th

The streaming deal for the series at Netflix has apparently expired; with it already having left Netflix in Australia with plans for it to leave Netflix in the UK on June 9th, a day before its US departure. All seven seasons will be removed from Netflix.

Set in the 1960s, following a flashy advertising agency in Manhattan and its employees, Mad Men is considered one of the best period dramas to have ever been produced. Starring John Hamm in the lead as Don Draper and a huge cast Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, Kiernan Shipka, January Jones, Bryan Batt, and Aaron Staton among others.

There’s no telling at this point where Mad Men will begin streaming next and while it’s clear that the studio is ready to move the popular show to a different streaming home,  it truly is the end of an era.

Mad Men isn’t the only exit from Netflix, the streaming giant is set to lose more of its biggest titles to other services over the next year. Both Parks and Recreation and The Office are heading to their permanent streaming home, NBCUniversal’s Peacock while That 70s Show sees its streaming contract expires later this year as well, and could also be on the way out. All this comes on the back of hit shows like Friends and Scandal exiting Netflix earlier this year.
