Shut down top receivers with this defensive tactic.
There are plenty of times where you might want to double team a receiver in Madden 20. With dominant players like Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Antonio Brown and others, if you don’t double team them you might have a hard time stopping them.
Double Teaming is actually one of the more advanced moves to implement pre-snap, because it takes a couple of steps to do it. Here’s what you’ll want to do if you want to double team in Madden 20.
Prior to the snap, you’re going to need to double tap the A/X button when you’ve highlighted the player you want to commit to the double team. This will bring up defensive back or defensive player options. You can change your coverage options for this particular player by pressing the right and left thumbsticks.
How to Double Team in Madden 20
When you have a defensive player selected double tap the A Button (Xbox) X Button (PS4). This will bring up defensive coverage options. Select man coverage and then select which receiver you want to double team.
To double team, you want to select man coverage with the right stick. Then you will need to choose a receiver that you want to assign this player to. This will change that players current coverage assignment while keeping everyone else’s the same. So if you are already in man coverage with another defensive back, this player will be the second man coverage for the double team
You do need to be careful about who you select as the player to double as this can leave big holes in your defense.
