In a press release, EA revealed what players can expect from the upcoming Madden game. This year’s installment will feature:

Other Madden 21 New Features Include

  • A new “playable documentary career” mode called Face of the Franchise: Rise to Fame. Here, players start at the high school level as a quarterback and work their way up to the NFL. In college, players will get the choice to become a running back or wide receiver.
  • 50 new X-Factor abilities
  • Live Playbooks 2.0

Finally, we have this year’s cover star. Although it was leaked back in April, EA officially revealed Baltimore Ravens Quarterback and 2019-20 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson as Madden 21’s cover athlete.

Madden 21 will release on August 28th, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC (via both Origins and Steam). The game will release on next-gen consoles and Google Stadia later in the year. If you purchase Madden 21 for PS4 or Xbox One and decide to make the jump to either of the next-gen systems, EA Sports is offering customers the chance to upgrade to the next-gen version of the game for free. This offer will run until the studio releases Madden 22 next year.
