Madden 21 is trending again.

It seems likely that when Electronic Arts developers first saw those words, they got excited. They shouldn’t.

For at least the second time since Madden 21 released late last month, Twitter users around the world are making their angry voices heard. On Thursday afternoon, the hashtag, EndMaddenMonopoly become of the most popular keywords on the social media platform.

Complaints, since Madden 21 was first announced, were varied and loud. One of the biggest issues has been that the series appears to be nothing more than a $60 roster update.

There have also been complaints about features that used to be in football sims that EA has systematically removed, or ignored entirely. The franchise mode isn’t the only thing drawing people’s ire.

One user pointed out that one of the more celebrated new modes in the series, “Face of The Franchise” is also broken. In Madden 21, players try and take a quarterback from the high school ranks to greatness, but achieving greatness is a bit too easy these days.

The user, @Madden_Megatron pointed out the mode’s difficulty seems to be stuck and easy, and there’s no way to change it. He demonstrated this by posting a screengrab where he’d apparently beaten his computer opponent 140-0. The pic also showed he’d managed to throw for 1,572 yards in the game.

Other users pointed out a lack of attention to detail in all things, including making sure team names were spelled correctly.

Still others showed there are glitches here and there that simply shouldn’t be allowed, such as a football field without any yard markers.

The entire EndMaddenMonopoly is once again allowing Madden 21 users another outlet to show how fed up with the franchise they really are.

They’re also doing that by review bombing sites like MetaCritic which currently shows a user score of 0.3 on the title, compared to a still bad, 63 rating from the critics.
