The perfect pass is a big deal. Whether you’re Eli Manning throwing a 99-yard touchdown pass to Victor Cruz (the longest pass play possible in football) or just a QB looking for some routine yardage to get back to first down, the passes you throw will determine how successful you are on offense. Madden 22 features a variety of different passes to help you set up the perfect play, but it can be easy to get confused when it comes to figuring out how to throw high passes and low passes. This guide aims to clear everything up and ensure you’re on the right path to bring home the ring. Here’s how to throw a high pass and a low pass in Madden 22.

How to Throw a High Pass & a Low Pass in Madden 22

Throwing a high pass and a low pass in Madden 22 is thankfully a fairly straightforward procedure. In order to throw either the high or low pass type, you will simply need to hold an extra button or key while pressing the corresponding button for your receiver. To throw a low pass you will hold LT/L2/Left-mouse (or L-ctrl) while passing to the receiver of your choice. To throw a high pass you will hold LB/L1/Mid-mouse (or Alt) while throwing your pass.

Throwing a low pass will (as the name implies) typically cause your receiver to go to the ground for the reception. This can be helpful for quick curl route passes or when trying to make that sideline dive to stop the clock. Throwing a high pass is advantageous when you have a particularly mismatched defender height-wise guarding your receiver or when you have a receiver that generally has better luck catching the ball in the air.

Keep in mind that how long you hold down the receiver’s assigned button matters as well – it makes the difference between a lob pass, a bullet pass, and a touch pass. These pass types work in conjunction with the high and low pass types and can be used to ensure the perfect setup for your receiver. Good luck!
