Madden 23 also adds some AI tweaks, including player motivations, scouting, and player tagging. These are meant to make the game more interesting by increasing its depth. Arguably, the biggest of these is player motivations. As happens in real life, the team with the most money will get the best player. Player motivation also factors in ring chasing, playing potential, proximity to home, weather, state taxes, etc.

All these additions are strategic, as Madden 23 is looking to add more logic to everything in the sim, including trades, awards, and drafts. It seems that the franchise’s end goal is to provide a more realistic and competitive experience.

Madden 23 is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC.
