With so much hype and anticipation surrounding the next big project in the Mafia game series, Hangar 13 has shared a new story trailer for Mafia Definitive Edition. Originally set to release tomorrow, August 28th, the developers took to Twitter explaining how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their development. Now set to release a month later in September, Hangar 13 has continuously shown the project with a new trailer that debuted at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event as a new trailer for the upcoming Mafia remake.

The trailer opens with a dialogue between Tommy and Don Ennio Salieri discussing the terms of their partnership and further involvement in the mob’s dealings. This new look displays the playable character, Tommy, in all of the action and drama the family gets mixed up in. As the conversation happens quite early into the title’s expansive narrative, the trailer also blends together tidbits of missions and quests Tommy must embark on for the family. With entirely fresh models for characters, environments, and cutscenes; Mafia Definitive Edition is a true scale remake that will capture the original experience in a souped-up version made for new audiences to experience the epic tale of betrayal, crime and bad attitudes in post World War 1 America.

After so many details and trailers of the upcoming title published by 2K Games, Mafia Definitive Edition is shaping up to be a fully redesigned look at the Salieri crime family. In a new minute and a half look at the remastered game, the city of Lost Heaven has never looked more populated and dangerous before. Based on real-life Chicago in the 1920-30s, the meticulous rebuild of the title’s setting is a great showcase of how much care and thought is being put into recreating the original storytelling with the help of modern technology. Set to launch next month on September 25th, players will be able to experience the crime family’s tale on PC, Xbox and PlayStation for both current and next-gen consoles.
