The first narrative trailer for Mafia: Definitive Edition has been released. The trailer shows off the gritty tone and style of what to expect for the main game.

First released back in 2002, Mafia was lauded as a more mature take on the traditional open-world crime games released at the time. This remake will overhaul a lot of the gameplay mechanics and narrative from the original game.

The new trailer was shown at the PC Gaming Show, which given the lack of an E3 this year has been a breath of fresh air. Other announcements from the PC Gaming Show from this year include Persona 4 Golden coming to Steam and a new trailer for Twin Mirror.

The trailer is a montage of different cinematics from the game.  From a quiet conversation in a diner to explosive gun battles. Mafia: Definitive Edition is using the same engine as Mafia 3, which makes the cutscenes look incredible.

Mafia: Definitive Edition Features Updates Visuals and More

In the game, you play as taxi driver Thomas Angelo who stumbles into the underworld of organized crime. You will soon complete jobs for the Salieri crime family in the city of Lost Heaven and rise in the ranks.

In addition to graphical and gameplay changes, the game will have an updated script with new dialogue and backstories. Even if you already played the original game, there could be something new to experience with this remake.

Releasing on August 28, 2020, the game also comes with a special bonus if you preorder. Preordering the game comes with Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition for download.

The definitive editions for II and III differ from the first game. While this new game is a complete remake, II is an HD remaster and III is an updated version of the game.
