Four major stars have joined Apple TV+’s new climate change drama series Extrapolations. Forest Whittaker, Tobey Maguire, Marion Cotillard, and Eiza Gonzalez are joining the cast of Scott Z Burns’ new drama.

Deadline reports that the actors will star alongside other stars such as Meryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Kit Harington, Tahar Rahim, Matthew Rhys, Daveed Diggs, Gemma Chan, David Schwimmer, and Adarsh Gourav. Extrapolations will consist of eight interconnected episodes addressing how life will be affected by climate change in the 21st century.

Whittaker will play an investor, Cotillard an art dealer, Maguire a kelp farmer, and Gonzalez an artist and influencer. Variety reports that Miller will play a marine biologist, Harrington a CEO, Rahim a man with memory loss, Rhys a real estate developer, Diggs a Rabbi, Chan a single mother and banker, Scheimmer a father to a teenage daughter, and Gourav a driver for hire. Streep’s role in the film has yet to be revealed.

Whitaker is known for his roles in The Last King of Scotland and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He will reprise his role from the latter film in the Star Wars series Andor.

Maguire has had many major roles, but his name is mostly synonymous with his portrayal of Spider-Man. Rumors have circulated that he would reprise that role in the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home, but those rumors remain unconfirmed.

Cotillard is known for appearing in several films by Christopher Nolan (Inception and The Dark Knight Rises) and for her Oscar-winning role in La Vie En Rose. Gonzelez is known for appearing in Baby Driver.
