Maplestory is a close game to my heart, and it has been for many years. Many gamers can agree, it’s an addictive and nostalgic experience that we all eventually come crawling back to. For the first time since the game came out though, Nexon is bringing the fight to the game’s main antagonist. The Black Mage is here.
For years many players have been curious what the fight would look like against the big baddy. The wait is up, and I couldn’t be more excited.
This is the true Maplestory endgame now. The map looks enormous, with a death counter adding stress on to the players brave enough to dive into its depths. You’ll be separated from your party members once you enter, so dying at this stage would give your team a horrifying crutch.
Along with the new map brings much needed fifth job skills to spice up your grinding in Maplestory. A new quality of life change means that once you hit fifth job, you’ll get three skill nodes. This will give you enough skills to really decimate the mobs around you.
That brings us to the final part of the update. The Black Mage is deep inside Limina, where you’ll have to fight through a wide array of new enemies. These include the Seeds of Life, Corrupted Warriors, and the Elite Boss Leader Darknell. Once you smite all these foes, the big boss himself is waiting for you. His health is shared across all worlds with many different stages, so it will really be a fight all the Maplestory world could feel.
