If you signed up for the Mario Kart Tour Android beta test before the application period closed earlier this month, keep an eye on your inbox. Multiple Japanese players have posted screenshots on Twitter of emails from Nintendo confirming that they were selected for the test.
We haven’t found any reports of codes going out to U.S. players yet, but they’re expected to arrive shortly. Nintendo’s official site still says that codes will be going out “around Sunday, May 19,” and with the test starting this Wednesday, there can only be so much time left to wait. The beta will only be available to Android users in the U.S. and Japan.
As is the norm with beta tests like this, Nintendo has asked players to refrain from posting any images or video of the game. A few leaks are all but inevitable but don’t hold your breath for too much new information coming out of the beta if you aren’t selected to participate.
Mario Kart Tour, a mobile version of the company’s popular racing title, was first announced at the beginning of last year. It was slated to come out by March of this year, but its release date was pushed back to summer with an announcement in January.
