In a few more months, the latest game in the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series will be coming out. The series usually sticks to having Mario, Sonic, their friends, and their enemies participate in sports that are part of the real-world Olympics. However, this latest entry is shaking things up a little bit.

In addition to several real-world sports, it got came out Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will have three Dream Events. These Dream Events are games that take place in a more futuristic setting and use science-fiction tools. In theory, these events could be actual Olympic sports someday. One of these Dream Events is Dream Racing, which has characters racing through a track on hoverboards. Another is Dream Shooting, which involves running through a track while shooting targets with a ray gun. Lastly, Dream Karate has characters fighting on a ring with electronic pads that change depending on who lands a hit.

Roughly about a month ago that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will have ten 2D events in addition to its 21normal events. In addition to the three new Dream Events, there are 34 playable events in the game. At least, that’s how many we know about so far. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 8 this year. You can watch the new trailer revealing the three Dream Events below.
