As seen in the trailer, Mario Strikers Battle League will allow teams of five to compete against each other in arcade-style soccer action, where you’ll be able to kick and pass the ball to score goals for your team, tackle your opponents to catch them off guard, send items to support your team, use impressive unique shots to score quickly, and much more, all while playing as a variety of characters from across of the Super Mario series.

This latest entry in the Mario Strikers series brings an all-new experience for players new and old to enjoy. The latest game before this was Mario Strikers Charged for the Nintendo Wii in 2007, and Super Mario Strikers released for Nintendo Gamecube in 2005. Both were chaotic soccer games featuring many of the same qualifies of Mario Strikers Battle League.

Players will be able to use various gear options to augment their character’s stats and appearance, such as Mario’s himself wearing beefy metal armor that increases his Strength. Also revealed in the Mario Strikers Battle League trailer were details on a move called the Hyper Shot, which enables players to charge a superkick when they collect a special orb on the field and, if the kick goes in, it will score two goals instead of one.

Online multiplayer compatibility will be available for up to 8-player players supported locally on a single Switch or via online play. Additionally, there will be a “Club Mode” that allows you to invite others to join and compete globally to determine who is the highest-ranking team in online play. Players can battle against teams from across the world to determine who is the best of the best.
