From the start of Mario Strikers: Battle League, players are given five default gear sets for competing in online and offline matches, but there is also a sixth set that players can unlock. This set is known as the Bushido Set and includes the Bushido Helmet, Bushido Bracers, Bushido Armor, and Bushido Sandals. Unlike the rest of the gear, which is designed like futuristic sportswear, the Bushido gear resembles a Japanese samurai. For those unfamiliar, Bushido is a Japanese code of conduct for samurai regarding their attitudes, behavior, and lifestyle. Hence, this unique culture is presented in this new gear set that players can unlock in Mario Strikers: Battle League.

Unlocking the Bushido Gear Set in Mario Strikers Battle League

To unlock the new Bushido Gear Set in Mario Strikers: Battle League, players must complete all six Cup Battles in the game’s Normal Mode. These battles include the Cannon Cup, Chain, Cup, Turbo Cup, Muscle Cup, Trick Cup, and Championship Cup. Once these have all been completed, the Bushido gear will become available in the Gear Settings for every character.

Mario Strikers Battle League Announced for Nintendo Switch

Below is a list of all the Bushido gear pieces that players can unlock in Mario Strikers: Battle League and a brief description regarding their stats. Keep in mind that each part costs 300 Coins instead of the usual 100 Coins per gear piece. Therefore, players will need a total of 1,200 Coins to obtain the whole set.

  • Bushido Helmet: Passing is increased by 4 points, but Strength, Speed, Shooting, and Technique are reduced by 1 point.
  • Bushido Bracers: Technique is increased by 4 points, but Strength, Speed, Shooting, and Passing are reduced by 1 point.
  • Bushido Armor: Strength is increased by 4 points, but Technique, Speed, Shooting, and Passing are reduced by 1 point.
  • Bushido Sandals: Speed is increased by 4 points, but Technique, Strength, Shooting, and Passing are reduced by 1 point.

As Mario Strikers: Battle League fans might have noticed, the only stat that is not included in the buffs that the Bushido Set provides is Shooting. Shooting is the stat that determines shot power and the speed at which the ball travels after being struck. Accordingly, players will need to ensure they choose a Mario franchise character with higher Shooting if they wish to equip the entire Bushido Set; otherwise, their capability to score a goal or stun the opponent’s goalie will be reduced.
