Looks like we won’t have to wait until the Nintendo Direct later today to learn more about the upcoming Mario Tennis Aces, as some details and a release date were revealed ahead of schedule by a listing belonging to retailer Rakuten Books.

The game’s product page (which has since been removed), featured several images confirming the return of the usual assortment of characters, such as Mario, Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, Rosalina, Yoshi, Donkey Kong and Bowser.

In addition, the page appears to suggest that players will be able to control their character by swinging the Joy Con (much like how one would swing the Wii Remote in Wii Sports Tennis); and they’ll be able to play against others online or locally via local multiplayer.

As for the release date? The page says Mario Tennis Aces is due out in Japan on June 22. Considering the nature of the game, its likely that this date extends to all regions as well.
