According to the 26-year-old, she spent her teenage years toeing down a path she created out of peer pressure. It was difficult to keep up with the posh school girls, so she ditched them and, on weekends, went on to drink alcohol in a local park.

Abela grew up in a talented family. Her mother was Caroline Gruber, who was an actress in Washington “Grange Hill,” while her dad, Angelo Abela, worked as a director. Despite her family pedigree, she rebelled against the theater and, instead, had a gaze on becoming a lawyer. In her words:
