The decades-spanning saga has a period placed on it as Mark Hamill pens a farewell letter for fans in The Skywalker Saga box set.

The actor has played hero Luke Skywalker since 1976 original flick. Hamill’s letter celebrated over 40 years of Star Wars stories and cast members. He went on Twitter to share the goodbye message included in every copy of the box set.

Hamill has always been vocal about his character, especially when it came to Rian Johnson’s take on Luke. He has also played a variety of iconic roles from Joker to Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender. It wouldn’t be out the question to seem him as Luke again through animation or videogames.

The Skywalker Saga box includes 27 discs that include the nine main films in 4K UHD and Blu Ray. It’s all here, from Luke pondering under the twin suns in A New Hope to Rey posing under the same suns in The Rise of Skywalker. Although, the original trilogy here is the special edition version and not the theatrical version that fans debate over on forums.

Last year, the Star Wars trilogy developed by Game of Thrones showrunners, David Benioff and D.B Weiss, was scrapped. The duo cited their reason for pulling out coming from being spread thin by the $200 million Netflix deal.

Despite Hamil’s departure, Star Wars tales continue on as Clone Wars recently returned to Disney+ for the last season. Then, there the Obi-Wan project and the second season of the baby Yoda meme machine a.k.a The Mandalorian being developed.
