The first few scenes from ‘Married at First Sight’ season 16 trailer settles on a positive note showing a tropical honeymoon and an old-school-themed roller skating party, but it soon spirals into an explosive drama between couples. Since 2014, the show has been a constant on FYI and Lifetime Network.

The reality TV series, which takes its cue from the Danish Series “Gift Ved Første Blik,” shows how two become one, following experts’ recommendations and their chemistry. Although it begins with strangers meeting and growing fond of each other before marriage, the drama that ensues includes intense arguments, with people showing a range of emotions.

The series does not guarantee love at first sight, but over the years, it has recorded remarkable success in connecting lovers and achieving a successful marriage/relationship. As usual, the ‘Married at First Sight‘ season 16 trailer is drama-packed, but there is a shocking ring to it, as couples face real issues.

“Married at First Sight” Trailer Depicts Body Shaming and No Real Connection Among Couples

It is not strange to see couples on the ‘Married at First Sight‘ series without chemistry even after committing to a marriage.

In the beginning, they always adjust to the new normal—being married, and expectedly, the New Year episode shows a duo, Christopher and Nicole, getting the hang of their relationship. Nicole asked her partner if he loved her, and in a genuine yet apprehensive tone, he noted, “not yet.” While these two were being honest about their emotions, Clint body-shamed his other half, Gina.

Clint brazenly compared his wife to his former lovers, analyzing their physique differences. But the group was unwilling to conform to the negative talk; they criticized him for discussing his “athletic, slender” exes.

Mack, married to Dominique, praised Gina’s sexiness while referring to her husband as “crazy.” However, Mack’s observance did not glorify him in his wife’s eyes, as Dominique described her husband as petty after a clash.

The trailer highlighted the struggles between Shaquille and Kirsten. The duo acknowledged that they were not the perfect match. Additionally, Airris was spotted relating with another woman despite supposed bond with partner, Jasmine.

Lifetime will be presenting ‘Married at First Sight’ at 8 p.m. ET on January 04, 2023, leaving fans to wonder who will continue their relationship and which couple will give in to the tides.
