Marvel released the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which according to Marvel’s website, is the movie that officially kicks off phase five of the MCU. This is the first time we’ve seen Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) since he battled Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. The trailer, which has been released the same year that Marvel is celebrating 60 years of Ant-Man, features Scott processing the fact that he’s gone from ex-con to heroic Avenger. He’s also still living in the shadow of some other Avenger, as is evidenced by a Chinese restaurant owner saying to him, “Thank you, Spider-Man.”

‘Ant-Man’ Trailer Features One of Marvel’s Big Bad Villains

The story is looking to be quite intense, with Lang, his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and Hope’s Parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) being sucked into the Quantum universe where they will encounter strange creatures. They will face a major threat with Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), who director Peyton Reed told Entertainment Weekly is one of the “big bad characters in the comics.” Along with the new trailer, Marvel also released a poster for the movie featuring Ant-Man and the Wasp standing on Kang’s finger. That poster can be seen in the tweet below:

An Awkward Appearance in the Ant-Man Trailer

Also appearing in the trailer is Bill Murray, who announced his appearance in the movie almost exactly a year ago. While this appearance was expected, Murray has had several allegations against him that make his appearance somewhat awkward. Such allegations include insults toward Lucy Liu on the set of Charlie’s Angels, throwing Seth Green into a dumpster backstage on SNL when Green was only nine years old, and pulling down Geena Davis’ bra strap during a TV interview.

Despite this awkward appearance, the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumnaia is looking to be a big kick-off for phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
