Bad news Marvel fans. Hulu just announced that they have canceled two Marvel animated series. These are, of course, Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler. The two shows were part of a set of four which also includes M.O.D.O.K. and Hit-Monkey. Unfortunately, it appears that the female duo and the practitioner of Quak-Fu will not be joining the others after all.

Marvel’s/Hulu’s Howard the Duck, Tigra & Dazzler Have Hit the Shelves

Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler were part of an adult-animated wave of Marvel shows. Along with M.O.D.O.K. and Hit-Monkey, all four series would then cross over in The Offenders. However, various news sites are now reporting that two of those shows are no longer in production. This likely means that The Offenders crossover will not happen.

Marvel did not release much information regarding Howard the Duck’s production after the initial announcement. The only confirmed piece of information was that Kevin Smith and Dave Willis were acting as executive producers. Smith has come out and said that Howard the Duck is indeed no more. According to Smith, Willis told him the news over a text message. For more on Kevin Smith’s reaction, click here.

As for Tigra & Dazzler, the show hit a few hurdles recently. Back in December, showrunner Erica Rivinoja and the writing staff were fired by Marvel in a “creative overhaul”. The show was only four months into production, so the firings put the series on hold.  Now, it appears that Marvel has given up on the idea for the time being.

While this is bad news for Marvel fans who were looking forward to the two series, M.O.D.O.K. and Hit-Monkey are still in the works. News for Hit-Monkey has been scarce since its initial announcement. However, M.O.D.O.K.‘s voice cast was announced a few days ago so it seems as though that series is a go. In addition, various other Marvel shows are in development for Disney+ so fans have those to look forward to as well.
