Marvel Studios has released the official trailer for Shang-Chi: Legend Of The Ten Rings. The movie stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng.
The new trailer shows Shang-Chi as a young kid being tutored by Wenwu about the ten rings, “If you want to them to be yours one day, you have to show me you are strong enough to carry them.”
Marvel’s official trailer then shifts to him as an adult, with incredibly well-shot fight scenes, along with the humor portrayed by Awkwafina and Simu Liu. The very end of the trailer will see an appearance from Abomination, aka Tim Roth’s character from The Incredible Hulk in 2008. Roth is also set to reprise his role in the upcoming Disney Plus She-Hulk series.

Shang-Chi will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie with an Asian lead. Shang-Chi And The Legend of The Ten Rings will also be the first MCU movie released over Labor Day weekend. Unlike Black Widow, which will be theatrical and day-and-date on Disney+ Premier on July 9, Shang-Chi is getting a 45-day theatrical window.
Filming for Shang-Chi began in February 2020 but was put on hold in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production resumed in August before completing in October. The shooting occurred in Sydney and San Francisco. The film was previously scheduled to be released on February 12, 2021, the first day of the Chinese New Year, before it was shifted to May 7, 2021. Following that, it was shifted again to July 9, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 3, 2021, as part of Phase Four of the MCU.
