Marvel’s Avengers beta hides some “hints” about 15 extra characters in the game files — and that’s not even counting the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man. A Reddit user that goes by ‘6plus4equals52’ found interesting clues by fiddling around in the beta game files. According to them, these are the list of unannounced characters judging from in-game files:
- Ant-Man
- Wasp
- Vision
- Black Panther
- Dr. Strange
- Falcon
- Mar-Vell
- Mockingbird
- Quake
- Winter Soldier
- Scarlet Witch
- Captain Marvel
- Kate Bishop
- She-Hulk
- War Machine
Although another Redditor in the thread points out something that should not get your hopes up. So far only four characters on the Marvel’s Avengers beta list have detailed files and skill names. It could mean some of them — like War Machine and Wasp — will act similar to Hulkbuster: just as a power-up or a summoned assist character.
“[T]hese are the characters that have a good amount of files, and even [skill] names: Black Panther, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop and Winter Soldier. I would bet those 4 + Hawkeye are the next 5 playable heroes.”
In another thread, 6plus4equals52 also found an ‘X-Men related’ references: Frostbite and Rico. However, they are not sure if those two Marvel’s Avengers beta files refer to another batch of unlockable characters.
- Frostbite (look for “Marketplace_TestOutfit_3” but there are references to [Ms.] Marvel costumes named “Frostbite” as well so [I’m] not sure if it’s a character)
- Rico (look for “CardGameSet_MysteryBox_Rico_test” probably nothing)
