It was just officially announced yesterday that Marvel’s Avengers from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix is ending and is set to lose support in just three years. The game will have its final game update on March 31st, which is version 2.8, before it ends all support on September 30th. It was also stated that even though support is ending for the game, both the single-player and multiplayer mods will be available after support ends.

Marvel’s Avenger to Lose Support and All Paid Content Will Be Free

The last pack that ended the game was the Winter Soldier hero and Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat, which was in update 2.7, which is now the final update, as 2.8 will only address some bug issues. “When update 2.8 launches on March 31st, 2023, Credits will no longer be purchasable, and all remaining Credit balances will be converted into in-game resources to aid ongoing adventures.”

Now, for big fans of the game, or even new players, there is a plus to what the team is doing next: “as a show of our appreciation for our community, starting March 31st, 2023, we will make all the game’s Marketplace, Challenge Card, and Shipment cosmetic content available to all players for free. Every single Outift, Takedown, Emote, and Nameplate will be free from this date onwards.”

So even if you are new to the game and are upset to hear this news, at least now you will be able to continue playing with all the really cool items as well. However, it doesn’t change how sad it is for Marvel’s Avengers to lose support and end as it feels so soon. Spider-Man still remains a Sony exclusive. It is a sad time to announce the end of Marvel’s Avengers, a game that the creators were so passionate about, but at least it will be left standing for players to spend countless hours on and enjoy their favorite heroes.
