Possibly one of the most anticipated sequels this year is the follow up to Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 from 2018. Two years later the sequel title, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, is a first look into a next-gen capable title set to release alongside the PS5. Following Marvel’s recent ventures into farther reaches of Spider-Man’s webbed universe with Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, the animation of the film has somewhat become an aesthetic of its own. Adopting that iconic shaded look with pages straight out of a comic book, the film’s unique style has become emblematic of Miles Morales. Thankfully, the team over at Insomniac implemented a new type of suit for Miles to don as he ventures into the crime-fighting life. Revealed in a Youtube video, Marvel has unveiled the Spider-Verse costume for Miles Morales. While the suit is available to those who preorder, the added flair and attention to detail is perfect for fans of the 2018 film.

After donning the iconic animated suit, the immediately noticeable effect is the lower framerate Miles moves in. Staying faithful to the Sony Pictures Animation, which moves at a slower framerate than most video games, the suit makes the combat and movement look floaty and crunched like the film’s aesthetic. Of course, the most interesting addition is how he interacts with other enemies. Striking them and knocking them down produces the classically recognizable comic onomatopoeia.

It adds a special value to the actions you do as Spider-Verse Miles because of how different he acts. Just swinging around, his mannerisms are very recognizable to the iconic film it’s lifted from. When combined with a title that already is caring about close detail adds so much more life to a collaboration between webhead worlds.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales releases on November 12th for both PS4 and PS5.
