The Marvel Spider-Man movie actor has finally been revealed. Say hello to Tom Holland.

As reported on The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel and Sony have cast Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man movie.

Holland will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his version of Spider-Man will debut in Captain America: Civil War. He will then get his own solo movie in 2017.

The Marvel Spider-Man movie will be directed by Jon Watts. The movie will be out on July 28th, 2017. It’s likely Spider-Man will also be in more movies in the future.

Tom Holland beat out many contenders for the role of Spider-Man. It’s being said the final two was him and Charlie Rowe. Rumors in the weeks prior suggested Asa Butterfield was already cast. Butterfield may have blew his chances of the role by speaking too soon about the casting of the movie.

Sony decided to reboot Spider-Man yet again thanks to the dismal reception that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 received. This is similar to how Tobey Maguire got the boot when this third Spidey movie upset fans and critics.

Fans are kind of happy Marvel is involved with the new Spider-Man movie. Their track record means the character will make the fans happy.
