The 2017 Spider-Man movie has found its writers and it will be the duo of John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.

The pair are most known for writing a bunch of comedy films. Their upcoming film will be the “Vacation” reboot set for release later this year. Their most critically acclaimed movie thus far has been Horrible Bosses.

Marvel and Sony recruiting Daley and Goldstein for the new Spider-Man movie proves they are going in another direction. The previous Spider-Man films weren’t exactly comedies, but they had some humor in them.

This new movie will again see Peter Parker in high school, although they promise we won’t see his origin for a third time. Parker will already be Spider-Man as the character will first be introduced in Captain America: Civil War.

The Marvel Spider-Man movie stars Tom Holland at the title character. Holland was chosen because he had a successful screen test with Robert Downey Jr. The movie will be directed by Jon Watts. Watts is pretty new to Hollywood only directing lesser known films such as “Clown” and “Cop Car”.

It will be interesting if the combination of Watts, Daley and Goldstein can make a Spider-Man movie that everyone can enjoy. The involvement of Marvel could make things better than before, but we won’t know for sure until the film comes out on July 28th, 2017.
