This has not been a good week for the new game releases in the United Kingdom. Still, none entry seems more disappointing than Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, which debuts at number 12 in the All Formats list, and number 16 in the Individual Formats list for the PS4 version, while the Xbox One release misses the top 40 entirely. While the game is receiving positive reviews, currently holding a 75 on Metacritic, it seems like it was not able to generate interest among fans, who from the beginning did not appreciate the visuals and the limited character roster, with the launch version missing iconic figures like Wolverine or anyone from the X-Men for that matter.
Moving on to better news, Destiny 2 remains at top of the list for a third consecutive week, while Project Cars 2 enters the charts at number 2 with sales stumbling a 74% compared to its predecessor, although the drop is expected to be soften when considering digital sales, which are not tracked for the charts. Still, the game has little chance of making up for that loss in the long term, as the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport and Forza Motorsport 7 will attract most of the racing fans. Nintendo’s Pokken Tournament DX debuts at number 5, a very decent entry considering that the game is an expanded version of the original Wii U title for Nintendo Switch.
Other new entries include the return of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver at 18 and 21 respectively, and Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2 at number 25.
